Job Reports To: Bristol Street Site Director
Job Summary: The Assistant Site Director will assist the Site Director in all aspects of site and program
management which includes the following:
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
- Create and maintain a warm, welcoming environment while sharing the joy and power of reading
- Actively engages with students by building relationships with them and acting as a source of motivation
- Facilitates tutoring sessions between children and their tutors
- Assists with set up and break-down of the site, ensures supplies are neat and organized
- Responsible for the safety and supervision of children
- Sets high expectations for students and handles discipline problems appropriately
- Helps ensure that written records by tutors are reviewed daily
- Communicates effectively with students, parents, tutors, and other staff members
- Supports the monitoring of instructional plans for each student in order to help all students achieve
proficiency in reading
- Maintains records of student attendance, volunteer attendance, sign-in/out sheets, and supply inventory
- Acts as a substitute tutor when needed
- Answers and makes phone calls to volunteers and families in professional manner
- Undertakes other administrative tasks as needed including but not limited to overseeing snack orders and
supply inventory
- Fills in for Site Directors as needed
Requirements:
- High school graduate
- One year experience working with children
- Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience with or ability to learn Salesforce (Data Management System)
Preferred:
- Strong conversational skills in Spanish
- Classroom or tutoring experience
- College or advanced degree in education related field or a teaching certificate
Hours:
- Monday through Wednesday 3:00-7:30pm
- Thursday & Friday 2:00-6:30pm
