- Research & Development
- Marketing
- Information Systems
ABOUT OUR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
- Defibtech’s internship program provides qualified current undergraduate or graduate candidates an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in their field of study while collaborating with all levels of the Defibtech team.
- Interns will have guidance and support while working on valued business projects over the course of 8-10 weeks from the beginning of June through mid-August.
- Assignments will be in a cross-functional team environment encompassing a full range of product / project management activities including problem solving, team communication, planning and presentation, and assisting with implementing projects.
- At the conclusion of the internship, interns will present their work to various team members, including the Senior Leadership team.

OVERALL INTERNSHIP QUALIFICATIONS
- Active enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program with coursework that aligns with the internship focus areas below. Recent graduates may also be considered.
- Must be based in Connecticut, with the ability to based on-site in Guilford, Connecticut.
- Ability to successfully collaborate and challenge the status quo, while maintaining a shar attention to detail.
- Engaged with a can-do attitude and drive to achieve goals and move work forward.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work in a team-based environment that promotes collaboration, and resourcefulness.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Word and PowerPoint.
2026 INTERNSHIP FOCUS AREAS
Research & Development - Advanced Development
Fields of study: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering
Experience: Some hands-on electrical design and software programming experience (e.g., Python), preferred
Internship-level: Rising senior preferred
Responsibilities:
- Providing hands-on support for the design of our AED patient simulator project.
- Integrating electrical hardware and software into final system.
- Documenting and testing system for use during product verification and validation test protocols.
- Working cross-functionally through project management activities to move projects forward.
- Presenting findings of lessons learned, technologies used, and future recommendations.
Research & Development - Product Development
Fields of study: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering
Experience: Some hands-on software programming experience (e.g., C, C++) preferred
Internship-level: Rising junior or senior preferred
Responsibilities:
- Providing hands-on support for software management and unit testing.
- Migrating legacy code bases to new source code configuration management system while documenting procedures.
- Evaluating automated embedded software unit/module test system.
- Working cross-functionally through project management activities to move projects forward.
- Presenting findings of lessons learned, technologies used, and future recommendations.
Marketing
Fields of study: Marketing or Business
Experience: Some hands-on marketing or relevant classwork, preferred
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the marketing team with development of downstream marketing plans and materials for new product launches happening later this year.
- Assisting with the development of associated product launch and annual marketing plans including writing content for the web, social media, creating collateral, and helping to set up specific campaign plans, budgets, and creative assets.
- Presenting findings of lessons learned, best practices used, and future recommendations.
Information Systems (IS)
Fields of study: Computer Science preferred. Similar areas acceptable if accompanied with basic knowledge of programming methods, software developing tools, relational databases.
Responsibilities:
- Migrating and automating the integration of non-structured data into Defibtech ERP using programming and scripting languages.
- Reconciling and migrating data such as manufacturing data for finished goods across several sources.
- Automating how new data flows into systems during customer registration process using Defibtech Website.
- Supporting the implementation of projects to improve performance, reliability and data accuracy for software application(s) and streamline production support.
- Present findings of lessons learned, technologies used, and future recommendations.
